Duties and Responsibility:

The Application & Database Administrator is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, modifying/performance tuning and change management of systems. These include design, development/encoding, testing, debugging, installing and supporting business application systems. These includes:

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing/development of new IT software and to support and enhance existing systems.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business process.
  • Design and implement the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.
  • Implement, support and control an inventory of applications in use.
  • Assist in the development of, and migration to, new platforms.
  • Assist in troubleshooting software application issues.
  • Assist in managing an outsource relationship for third party application development and programming consultants.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
  • Provide level 2 investigation, diagnosis and incident resolution, and escalate when required.
  • Train and guide junior staff members were appropriate.
Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

  • Educated to university degree level or equivalent, preferably in a related field (Information Technology, Computer Science, telecommunications, Engineering)
  • Experience in software development or more than 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in, JavaScript, XML, and SQL
  • Added advantages, experience in android development, HTML5, Firebase, Flutter, Python, CSS, PHP and any other most common programming languages and relevant industry recognized qualification.
