Responsibilities:
Cold Storage Management: Oversee the storage of perishable goods in designated cold storage areas, ensuring proper organization and rotation of products.
Temperature Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record temperature levels in cold storage units to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
Refrigeration Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain refrigeration equipment, including freezers and coolers, to maintain optimal storage conditions for perishable items.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by accurately tracking incoming and outgoing goods, conducting periodic stock counts, and reporting any discrepancies.
Product Handling: Handle and transport perishable goods safely and efficiently, following proper handling procedures to minimize damage and maintain product quality.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in cold storage areas, including regular cleaning of equipment, shelving, and floors to prevent contamination and ensure a hygienic environment.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing perishable goods, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to food safety regulations.
Quality Assurance: Conduct routine inspections of stored products to identify any signs of damage, spoilage, or quality issues, and take appropriate action as needed.
Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other team members to coordinate tasks, report any issues or concerns, and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (2 to 5 years experience) in a similar role, particularly in a cold storage or warehouse environment, is preferred.
- Knowledge of cold storage operations, including temperature control, inventory management, and food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and track inventory data.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as work in cold temperatures for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves working in a cold storage facility with temperatures typically ranging from -20°C to +5°C.
- Regular lifting, bending, and standing may be required.
- Work during weekend may be necessary depending on the operational needs of the facility.
