Job offer: Aquaculture Technician

Summary of Duties

An Aquaculture Technician is an accountable, resourceful person with a strong work ethic, responsible attitude, and good communication skills. Responsible for a range of technical duties within the Aquaculture Facility. Candidates should be self–motivated and available to rapidly take on responsibilities and work under minimal supervision. Problem solving and the ability to implement practical solutions are necessary attributes.

Remuneration Package

Commensurate with the qualifications and experience.

Education (Special Knowledge) Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture or related field such as zoology, agriculture, chemistry or biology 

OR 

• Advanced Certificate in Fisheries Science from Seychelles Maritime Academy 

OR 

• Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Seychelles Institute of Technology with proven interest in Fisheries

Required Skills

• Must be able to work independently and within a team setting 
• Well developed communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as teamwork and conflict resolution skills 
• SCUBA Diving Accreditation preferable, or a willingness to learn to dive is highly recommend 
• Skippers/Driver’s license an added advantage
